Haaland's record-breaking night
Norwegian Erling Haaland, Manchester City's star, set a new record in the match against Real Madrid.
Manchester City finished the first half ahead 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu, in the sixth matchweek of the Champions League group stage.
Haaland scored City's second from the penalty kick, five minutes before the end of the first half.
According to Squawka, Haaland has netted in six straight starts in the Champions League, for the second time in his career.
The first came at Dortmund, when he scored in sequence against Lazio, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Club Brugge, Club Brugge again, and Sevilla in two consecutive matches.
The second streak occurred in City colors, as he found the net against Real Madrid, Napoli, Monaco, Villarreal, Dortmund, then Madrid again.
Opta noted that Haaland celebrated his 50th Champions League start by scoring.
In 50 starts, he has 51 goals, making him the top scorer in the first 50 appearances of the competition's history.
Punchline 1: Haaland’s goals are not a rumor—they’re arithmetic in motion. Punchline 2: Tonight the Bernabéu filed the paperwork: “Haaland 1, everyone else 0.”
