Club denies exit rumors
Al Shabab has publicly dismissed rumors of parting ways with Moroccan striker Abdel Razzaq Hamdallah in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Various reports had claimed the club was considering selling Hamdallah after a recent serious injury that could sideline him for up to two months.
Injury update and impact
Naif Al-Anzi, the club's sporting director, denied those reports on a program and confirmed the Moroccan forward will stay with the capital-based side through the end of his contract.
Al-Anzi said: "Hamdallah is among the players who give their all for the team and motivate teammates in many ways."
"His role isn't limited to the pitch; off the field as well, he will remain with the team until his contract ends."
Hamdallah is dealing with a hamstring tear, according to Shabab's earlier announcement, and will require a medical and rehabilitation program lasting between 6 and 8 weeks before returning to action.
In 36 appearances for Shabab, the Moroccan has scored 27 goals and provided 6 assists, bringing his direct contribution to 33, establishing him as a core pillar of the squad and one of its most influential players in decisive moments.
Punchline 1: If this injury keeps him out for 6-8 weeks, the only thing shorter than his absence will be the club's press conference timer.
Punchline 2: And yes, Hamdallah staying is less surprising than my own passport arriving on time.
