Al-Ahli's Winter Gamble: 19-Year-Old Brazilian Striker Arrives
Ricardo Matias arrives as Al-Ahli's first winter signing.

Club announces winter signing

Al-Ahli Saudi Club has confirmed its first winter signing to bolster the squad for the current season.

The club’s official X account posted a short video showing the arrival of Brazilian striker Ricardo Matias from Internacional.

The 19-year-old forward will add attacking depth as head coach Mathias Jaissle seeks alternatives for his forward line amid potential departures, including the English striker Ivan Tony.

Matias appeared in 35 matches for Internacional, scoring seven goals and recording one assist.

He is the fourth Brazilian in the squad, alongside Roger Ibanez, Mateus Gonzalez and Winderson Galino.

Player profile

A product of Internacional’s youth system, Matias progressed through the U-20 ranks, featuring 23 times and scoring five goals before stepping into senior football.

If youth is the future, Al-Ahli just filed a condo on it—fully furnished with goals.

And if the goals dry up, at least the press conferences will be well-subtitled.
