Mohamed Osman, Al Ahly’s legal adviser, said the board asked him to begin formal steps to drop the complaints against Mustafa Younes, the club’s former star, following his insulting remarks on social media and TV.
Apology and aftermath
The move followed Younes’ apology to the club, its board, and president Mahmoud Al-Khatib.
In the apology, Younes claimed the club’s financial details he discussed were inaccurate, and he apologized for any harm caused.
He added that he holds the club and Mahmoud Al-Khatib in the highest regard.
Earlier, Mahmoud Al-Khatib and the board had filed complaints against Younes for remarks that questioned the club’s financial integrity.
