Al Ahly players finalize preparations ahead of the Burundi clash as injuries are monitored.

Injury Update Ahead of Burundi Trip

Dr. Ahmed Gaballa, Al Ahly’s physician, provided a fresh update on the squad’s fitness after players returned to training today following a brief rest, with the Burundi trip looming for the CAF Champions League first round’s go‑ahead game against Eagle Noar this Saturday.

In a televised briefing on Tuesday, Gaballa said, “Thank God, yesterday we had five injured players, but the number has dropped to four after Ahmed Reda recovered from a knee issue, was prepared, and returned to training.”

“Ahmed Reda is now fully ready for training and will be with the Reds on the Burundi trip that starts Thursday,” he added.

Gaballa noted that Imam Ashour, the team’s midfielder, continues regular testing—twice to thrice weekly—and is currently at home under close medical supervision. “His condition is steadily improving; tests are expected to return to normal early next week, and once the indicators normalize, he will begin both technical and physical rehabilitation,” he explained.
