Inside Al Ahly's Winter Transfer Strategy
Mohamed El-Khatib, the chairman of Al Ahly, will hold a crucial and decisive meeting with the Danish head coach Yis Torup, the manager of the first team, the day after tomorrow Monday, to discuss several files related to the upcoming winter transfer window.
A source within Al Ahly told Koora that the meeting, which will be attended by Said Abdelhafiz, a board member, will be the pivotal moment in identifying the team's needs and sealing the winter signings.
The source added that Torup will finalize his selections from the list of names presented so far, noting that the club aims to sign four players in January: a striker, a left-back, a centre-back, and a midfielder, in case Aliou Diang departs, who has not yet replied to a renewal offer before traveling to join his national team.
The source explained that Al Ahly is close to closing a new deal before week’s end, once Torup settles his final choices across all positions, especially given preliminary agreements with players on the shortlist that had been submitted to the coach previously.
The Red Devils continue training at the youth pitches in Nasr City, Cairo, in preparation for a clash with Enppi scheduled for Thursday, in the opening round of the Capital Cup.
