Barcelona targets a Moroccan-hosted transfer
Barcelona are targeting a deal from the Moroccan venues hosting the 35th Africa Cup of Nations, running from December 21 to January 18.
Fabrizio Romano, Europe’s transfer insider, says Barcelona and several English clubs are watching Cameroonian forward Karl Eta Eiong during the AFCON this month.
Romano noted that Eiong scored the winner for Cameroon against Gabon, handing the Indomitable Lions the first three points in the Africa Cup of Nations.
He adds that the 22-year-old remains on Barcelona’s wish list alongside other English clubs for 2026.
Eiong plays for Levante in Spain, with six goals in 16 appearances in La Liga and the Copa del Rey this season.
He also struck his first international goal against Gabon, in his fourth cap for the Indomitable Lions.
Punchline: If Barça signs him, their attack will be so sharp you’ll hear the net sigh with relief.
Punchline 2: If he nets, the celebrations will be so loud the stadium might start filing a noise complaint against the opposition.
