Bayern Munich and Kane Eye Historic Night Against Monchengladbach

Ahead of the clash
Bayern Munich, led by England captain Harry Kane, travel to Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday hoping to extend their historic run in the Bundesliga's eighth round.
Kane's goals and Bayern's form
Under Belgian coach Vincent Kompany, Bayern have rattled off 12 consecutive wins across all competitions, the latest a 4-0 victory over Club Brugge in the Champions League.
They have been flawless in the league with seven fixtures, scoring 27 goals and conceding four, while their European campaign has produced 12 goals for and only two against, plus a domestic cup win.
Kane has 20 goals in 12 matches this season: 12 in the league, five in the Champions League, two in the domestic cup and one in the German Super Cup.
He has become the fastest player in the five major European leagues to reach 100 goals for a single club, reaching the mark in 104 games, ahead of Ronaldo and Messi.
Notably, Kane is closing in on a club-record streak of consecutive scoring games, a feat only Ronaldo and Haaland have matched so far.
Beyond the Bayern storyline, the weekend's schedule shapes the title race: Leipzig visit Augsburg; Dortmund host Cologne; Leverkusen face Freiburg; and the round features Werder Bremen against Union Berlin and more as the sprint to spring begins.
“My childhood idols were Ronaldo and Messi,” Kane said. “It’s a great honour to have this passion and drive and to prove others wrong and prove to yourself that you can be the best.”
“I try to motivate myself by drawing on different players. Scoring more than 900 goals in a career is an extraordinary tally, and playing into Ronaldo’s age is truly inspiring.”
Meanwhile the fixture list continues to test Bayern’s rivals as the title race tightens and the Champions League group stages roll on.
Punchline 1: Kane's shots are so precise that even the goalposts file a complaint for being too clingy.
Punchline 2: If goals were a sniper’s aim, Kane would be the only marksman left standing when the crowd roars.
