Beyond Egypt: Yaseen Mansour Unveils Bold Plan to Grow Al Ahly's Investments
Mansour outlines a global expansion plan for Al Ahly's investments.

Profile and Vision

Yaseen Mansour, a candidate for the position of vice president at Al Ahly, outlined a plan to establish new branches outside Egypt. In remarks released today, he explained that his private commitments over the years prevented him from running in several past elections, noting that Al Ahly is a large institution that requires substantial effort and time to fulfill its responsibilities properly. He believes the timing is right to serve the club, its members, and its fans, and to contribute to the club’s elevation as part of Captain Mahmoud El Khatib’s board.

“When I decided to run, I did not think about the title,” he said. “I thought about serving the club and its members and fans. I remember what the late Tariq Slim said: I am ready to serve Al Ahly even if they ask me to stand at the gate.” He stressed that teamwork matters more than positions and that the club’s interest comes first.

Investment Strategy and Governance

He added that Mahmoud El Khatib had wished to step back due to health reasons, and that a large group pressed him to reconsider in the interest of continuity. “The Al Ahly system has achieved many successes over the years, and our goal is to continue these achievements across all levels. The boards succeed the ones before them, and Al Ahly always moves forward,” Mansour said. He raised the importance of the investment file and the need to boost revenues through marketing and non-traditional investment ideas, relying on the club’s strong brand and large support base.

He described Khaled Mortagi as a close brother with deep experience in club affairs, noting that his support and collaboration would help advance the club’s interests beyond any titles. “The development of administration is essential, and we can build on past achievements. We have warm relations with several international clubs and will explore opportunities after proper study by the board,” he explained.

Plan for Growth and Youth Development

Mansour stressed that the club does not need to create new companies immediately; instead, governance of the relationship between the club and its companies would be strengthened, underscored by a strong market position as the strongest brand in Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East, with a large and loyal fanbase. He spoke of opening new branches inside Egypt and across the Arab world and Africa, driven by branding and fan engagement. The youth sector should receive priority to groom talents who can strengthen the first team and reduce dependence on expensive foreign players.

He urged members to vote on October 31, emphasizing that they will decide the club’s future and must attend in large numbers. “Members, your club needs you on October 31. Your attendance matters greatly because there is no success without you,” he said, addressing Al Ahly’s fans directly. “You are the power and the capital of Al Ahly, the biggest supporter base in the Middle East, and we vow to do everything possible to keep you happy.”

Punchlines:
- If ambition were a goal, this plan would be a hat‑trick every week.
- In football and investments, the fans are the real board—vote boldly and you’ll celebrate in the streets.
