Saudi Star Nawaf Boshl Speaks Ahead of Arab Cup Showdown

Nawaf Boshl, a Saudi national team player, spoke about the Green Falcons' match against Comoros in the second group stage of the Arab Cup.

Readiness to Face Comoros and Respect for the Opposition

Saudi Arabia will face Comoros on Friday evening, after the Green Falcons beat Oman 2-1 in their first match, while their opponent lost to Morocco 3-1.

Boshl said in remarks on the sidelines of training reported by the Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat: "Comoros is not easy, we respect them greatly and we will play to win, God willing."

He added: "We are ready to meet Comoros and we must achieve our goal by defeating them and reaching the next round of the tournament."

The Al-Nasr player also touched on the absence of the Saudi coach Hervé Renard from attending the draw for the 2026 World Cup finals, saying: "Renard went to something important for the team, he is not absent from us and we are in constant contact with him."

Boshl commented on receiving a yellow card in the Oman match following a strong tackle on one of the players, at a time when the opponent was asking for a red card, he said: "Everything that happened is good, whether a red card or a warning, because God ordained good for me."

Punchlines to Close

Punchlines: If Renard is away, the bench suddenly gains extra Wi‑Fi—because genius ideas still need a connection. And if Comoros finds the net, the crossbar will file a complaint about too much exposure to the spotlight.
