Deal Overview

Man City seals first winter signing.

Manchester City have truly edged ahead of rivals in the Premier League, landing a heavyweight African signing in Antoine Semenyo today.

And City announced in a statement that they sealed a deal with the Ghana international, arriving from Bournemouth on a five-and-a-half-year contract through 2031.

According to the British Daily Mail, the deal cost City 65 million pounds, beating Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United who also showed interest.

The 26-year-old will wear the number 42 shirt, a number previously worn by Ivory Coast legend Yaya Touré, worldwide.

In his first comments on his new club's site, Semenyo said he felt pride joining Manchester City, a side watched for years under Pep Guardiola that dominated the Premier League and won trophies such as the Champions League and FA Cup.

And he added: "It's a club packed with world-class players and one of the managers, making it a destination for me today".
