Coaching Shake-Up in Libya: Tarik Mustafa Sacked by Al-Ahli Benghazi

Coaching Shake-Up at Al-Ahli Benghazi
Libya's Al-Ahli Benghazi dismissed its Egyptian coach Tarik Mustafa today, Monday, due to poor results.
Al-Ahli Benghazi started its Libyan league campaign with draws against Al-Anwar and Al-Hilal in rounds.
The club disappointed its fans after losing the Libya Cup and Libyan Super Cup to Al-Ahli Tripoli, which led to the dismissal of the head coach and his staff.
Tarik Mustafa, aged 54, had taken charge of Al-Ahli Benghazi in September last year there.
Previously the Egyptian coach led Fujairah in the UAE, Rapide Oued Zem, Olympique Safi, and Difaâ El Jadidi in Morocco.
Mustafa served as an assistant to Hossam El-Badry with Egypt’s national team and to Brazilian Marcos Paquetá at Zamalek.
Mustafa's dismissal came amid reports he was linked with taking over Zamalek, replacing coach Ahmed Abdel-Raouf who was set to depart.
Punchline 1: If coaching were stand-up, Tarik would be sacked for "too many substitutions"—the crowd wanted a better punchline.
Punchline 2: In football, as in life, sometimes the only thing changing faster than the score is the rumor mill—December's transfer window just got extra spicy.
