Talaea El-Gaish advanced to the Egypt Cup Round of 16 after a thrilling 2-0 victory over Sikka Al-Hadeed on Monday evening at the Military Sports Stadium in Cairo.
Mohamed Atef opened the scoring in the 17th minute, with the Togolese forward Ismail Ouro-Aguoro sealing the win in the 64th minute.
Under the guidance of manager Jumaa Mashour, Talaea El-Gaish earned a date with Kahrabaa Ismailia, who had edged past Al-Ittihad Alexandria in their own ties.
Meanwhile, Sikka Al-Hadeed, a Second Division outfit coached by Ahmed Eid Abdel-Malek, exited the competition early.
So far eight clubs have progressed to the Round of 16: Enppi, Petrojet, Talaea El-Gaish, Kahrabaa Ismailia, the National Bank, Smouha, Pharco, and Haras El Hodoud.
The Round of 16 will continue next Thursday with Al Gouna facing Petrol of Assiut, while several fixtures remain to be scheduled, including matches featuring Al Ahly vs Misr Telecom, Modern Sport vs Al Qanah, ZED vs ALO Egypt, Zamalek vs Al Mahalla, Pyramids vs Masr, Ceramica Cleopatra vs Abu Qir Fertilizers, and additional matchups involving other clubs.
A trio of confirmed Round of 16 fixtures also includes Enppi vs Petrojet, Talaea El-Gaish vs Kahrabaa Ismailia, and Smouha vs Haras El Hodoud.
