Egypt's World Cup Trail: Brazil and Norway to Feature in June Friendlies
Egypt's national team gears up for the 2026 World Cup with Brazil and Norway friendlies.

June Friendlies and World Cup Preparation

Hamadan (Hamada) El-Sharbini, a member of the Egyptian Football Association board, announced that two warm-up matches have been agreed for June ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Egypt are placed in Group Seven for the 2026 World Cup alongside Belgium, Iran and New Zealand.

El-Sharbini noted on television that the federation has finalized deals to face Brazil and Norway before the World Cup.

Egypt will also stage a training camp in Qatar in March, with near-final arrangements to meet Spain and Saudi Arabia in friendlies.

He added that a four-nation event could be held with another opponent, but the current plan remains Spain and Saudi Arabia.

El-Sharbini emphasized that all agreements were coordinated with head coach Hossam Hassan, countering rumors of his departure in light of AFCON results in Morocco.

Punchline 1: If strategy were dessert, Egypt’s plan would be tiramisu—layered, a bit messy, but deliciously effective.
Punchline 2: If winning were kebabs, Egypt’s road to glory would be extra spicy.
