Egypt Seizes Qualification, Eyes AFCON Crown in Morocco
Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, left winger of the Egypt national team, said he was thrilled by Egypt's progression to the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 Round of 16, stressing the importance of Monday's Angola clash in the group stage in Morocco.
Egypt secured their place by defeating Zimbabwe and South Africa in the first two matches.
In a post-match press conference, Trezeguet said Angola would be a strong opponent, but the Pharaohs play to win every game, and preparations for Angola began after the South Africa win.
He added that all players are at the disposal of the coaching staff led by Hossam Hassan, ready to play in any position at any time, with key players bearing responsibility.
The team arrived in Morocco with one goal: lift the trophy and raise Egypt's name high in the tournament.
Trezeguet praised Hossam Hassan as a role model and a fighter who has achieved titles with his twin Ibrahim Hassan, providing motivation for the squad.
The striker also noted that Hassan's leadership adds value and confidence to the group.
With Hassan at the helm, Egypt hope to secure a memorable campaign and, who knows, maybe a few goals for the fans back home.
Punchline 1: If they win it all, the trophy might need a bigger passport.
Punchline 2: And if not, at least the celebrations will come with subtitles for the rest of us.
