Midseason Transfer Updates
On Monday, the Egyptian club Al-Masry announced its first winter signing, bringing Osama Al-Zamrawi, a Moroccan midfielder from Wydad, on loan for the current season.
The deal includes a clause allowing the Egyptian club to purchase the player after the end of his loan for an agreed transfer sum with Wydad officials.
Zamrawi is 23 years old and operates in midfield, having represented Morocco at the youth and U21 levels.
He has previously worn the jerseys of Raja Casablanca, Al Wahda UAE, and Mohammedia before moving to Wydad in February 2024.
He's already featured eight times for Wydad this season, scoring one goal and assisting two teammates.
Meanwhile, Al-Masry is close to securing Mustafa Al-Ash, Al Ahly's defender, in the current window.
Intense talks are ongoing between Al Ahly and Al Masry to agree on a swap, as the Red Castle officials eye Khaled Sobhi and Mohamed Makhlouf.
Sources say Al-Masry aims to seal Al-Ash's deal first, before finalizing the swap that would include activating the buy option on Omar Al-Sayei's loan and possibly also borrowing goalkeeper Mohamed Sehha.
All eyes now on the two clubs' decisive plan.
Note to rivals: Al-Masry just turned loan into a feature-length upgrade.
And if football had a budget, these moves just filed for a raise.
