Injury and Fallout
\nThe former Iraqi star, Nashat Akrim, fired sharp remarks about Yazan Al-Naimat's ACL injury.
\nAl-Naimat's knee problem forced him to leave the Jordan-Iraq match yesterday, in the Arab Cup quarterfinals hosted in Qatar.
\nThe Jordan Football Association announced in a formal statement that he sustained an ACL tear and will need surgery.
\nHe received strong support from Jordanian fans online, and even got a call from Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.
\nHe will undergo new scans in the coming hours to determine when the operation will take place after the ACL diagnosis.
\nNashat Akrim told Al-Kass that the medical staff bears the primary responsibility because they allowed him to return to play.
\nHe added doctors have full authority to prevent participation, but Al-Naimat collapsed injured again, which aggravated the damage.
\nPunchline: If ACLs were a fashion trend, this one would be last season's clearance.
\nNote to the medical team: maybe invest in a calendar that doesn\'t allow players to return before the doctors sign off.
