Fresh Blow, Fresh Doubts: Saudi Arabia Faces Arab Cup Hurdles Before UAE Showdown
17 December 2025
Fresh blow ahead of Saudi-UAE clash
The Saudi national team received a fresh blow ahead of their clash with the UAE, tomorrow Thursday, just hours after Morad Hosawi picked up an injury, leaving his participation against the 'White' in doubt.
Saudi Arabia will close their Arab Cup campaign with a meeting against the UAE, in a third-place playoff at the 2025 Qatar tournament.
Injury updates and the Arab Cup path
The Middle East newspaper Ashar Al-Awsat published footage showing Mohammed Kanno not taking part in training held on Wednesday, fueling concern over the midfielder's readiness.
No official update clarified whether he was injured or fit, deepening questions from fans and staff about his possible involvement versus the Greens, or after the international break with the club.
The squad also saw several green stars suffer injuries, with Muteb Al-Harbi out from the start, followed by Jihad Dhakri and Ayman Yahya, who were sidelined mid-tournament, and Walid Al-Ahmad sent off in the last game.
The Saudi were beaten by Jordan 1-0 in the semi-finals of the Arab Cup.
Punchline 1: If precision were a football stat, Saudi would need a scope—because their shots keep missing the target.
Punchline 2: And if injuries were a conspiracy, the doctors would be the masterminds, applauding as the squad shuffles off the bench one by one.
