Barcelona Lands in Jeddah Ahead of Spanish Super Cup
Barcelona's squad arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a few hours before the start of the Spanish Super Cup, which will be streamed on the Eight app, the exclusive broadcaster for the Saudi Pro League.
The club's official Arabic-language account on X posted a video showing the arrival, with strong cheers from Saudi and Arab fans who welcomed the team. The club's message read a greeting from Jeddah.
Event Details and Schedule
The Spanish Super Cup is set to take place next Wednesday, with the first semifinal pitting Barcelona against Athletic Bilbao, while Real Madrid meets Atletico Madrid on the other side. The final is scheduled for the following Sunday.
Barcelona aims to defend the title it won last year after defeating Real Madrid in the previous edition, as the partnership between the Spanish Football Federation and Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Sports continues to host this marquee event.
The total prize money for the Spanish Super Cup has risen to 23 million euros, distributed among the four participating teams, up from 19.6 million in 2025 when the tournament was also staged in the Kingdom.
Notably, Barcelona, last edition's champions, earned a total prize of 9 million euros: 6 million for participation, 1 million for reaching the final, and 2 million for lifting the trophy.
Punchline 1: Barcelona arrived in Jeddah with timing so sharp that even the clock looked up from the scoreboard and whispered, let’s go.
Punchline 2: If defending the title were as easy as dodging post-match snacks, Barça would already be champions in the kitchen as well.
