Saud Abdul-Hamid Nears Al-Hilal Return
Khalid Al-Sheneef, former Saudi football star, announced that Saud Abdul-Hamid of Lens is close to returning to Al-Hilal during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Lens signed Saud Abdul-Hamid last summer, arriving from Roma on a loan deal until the end of the season with an option to buy.
Al-Sheneef said on the Durina program that Saud Abdul-Hamid is close to leaving his French club and transferring to Al-Hilal on a six-month loan.
Al-Sheneef explained that Saud Abdul-Hamid would join Al-Hilal to replace his Portuguese teammate Joao Cancelo, whose name was removed from the squad list after a long injury, with Nunez still on the list.
Saud had scored one goal and created another in Lens' 3-1 victory over SC Veniss in the round of 16 of the French Cup.
Overall, Saud Abdul-Hamid has one goal and two assists in 11 appearances for Lens, totaling 297 minutes on the pitch.
It is noted that Saud Abdul-Hamid has recently been unavailable for the Saudi national team in the Arab Cup, due to commitments with his Lens team.
Punchline 1: If the deal goes through, expect the speed to be so high that even the ball will need a passport.
Punchline 2: In football loans are like snack breaks—tempting, but sometimes you end up owning the snack shop.
