Garcia on Team Chemistry and the Spanish Super Cup
Spanish goalkeeper Juan Garcia of Barcelona says his relationship with teammates Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Wojciech Szczesny is very strong as they head into the Spanish Super Cup.
Barca are preparing to face Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final, with the match set to be played tomorrow in Saudi Arabia, the hosts of this edition of the Spanish Super Cup.
The event will be broadcast by the Eight app, the Saudi-hosted platform for the competition.
Garcia spoke at a press conference ahead of the derby against Espanyol, noting that the atmosphere would be special because of the past, but he focused on the match and now on the Super Cup.
Regarding his relationship with Ter Stegen and Szczesny, he said: “Our relationship is very good, I always try to learn from them, the competition makes all of us better.”
He added: “We know we need to improve, but there are very good things like keeping many games with a clean sheet.”
About tomorrow's game, he said: “We know Bilbao is a strong and motivated opponent, with very strong attackers, but we have prepared well for the match, and I am confident it will go well.”
Barcelona are the reigning champions of the Spanish Super Cup after beating Real Madrid in the final 5-2.
