Gavi’s Recovery Update
Spanish midfielder Pablo Gavi gave Barcelona fans a hopeful update on his recovery from a knee tendon injury, while urging his teammates to stay focused on trophy campaigns.
Gavi has been sidelined since the start of the season due to a serious knee injury.
In comments relayed by Mundo Deportivo, he said: 'Everything is going according to plan. I wish Barcelona a happy year ahead, and I hope we win every possible title this season.'
On his injury, he added: 'I am sticking to the set deadlines... so far everything is going well.'
He continued: 'What matters most is being with the team and working on a full recovery as quickly as possible.'
Regarding his return, he said: 'In theory, I should be ready to play in about five months; you learn a lot when such injuries happen, but above all, you must stay patient.'
He noted: 'The hardest thing is watching my teammates from the sidelines and not being able to play.'
He added: 'They are having a great season, but we cannot relax as no trophy is yet certain.'
Gavi also praised his teammates: 'I have no complaints about my teammates; Araújo, Pedri, Lamine Yamal are always there for me.'
On his goals for the new year, he concluded: 'All I want is to recover and return to action with my team, and we hope to win many titles this season; that would mean another fantastic campaign, like last season. There is also the World Cup with Spain, and I hope to be ready to participate.'
Punchline 1: 'If patience were a transfer window, Gavi would have bought the whole midfield.'
Punchline 2: 'Gavi’s rehab is so precise that even a sniper would take notes; target five months, return with a smile.'
