Rising star Lamine Yamal sparked laughter from football legend Cristiano Ronaldo at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai as he accepted three prestigious honors: Best Young Player, Best World Forward, and the Maradona Award.
After receiving the Maradona Award, the host teased Yamal about comparisons to football greats and his age.
Yamal answered that it is better not to compare himself with anyone; players like Ronaldo became who they are because they stayed true to themselves, and he wants to chart his own path, away from comparisons.
The interviewer pressed, asking who Lamine Yamal is and what people should know about him. Yamal replied simply that there is nothing much to know, except that his mother rules the house, and that’s all.
