Haaland hits historic 100, fastest ever in the Premier League
Erling Haaland, Manchester City's prolific striker, keeps rewriting the record books across competitions, this time reaching a historic milestone in the Premier League.
The Norwegian international lined up for City to face Fulham at their home ground in the 14th round of the season.
Haaland opened the scoring for the Citizens in the 17th minute, courtesy of a cross from Jérémy Doku.
According to Opta, Haaland is now the 35th player to reach 100 Premier League goals.
They added that Haaland needed only 111 matches to reach the century, 13 fewer than Englishman Alan Shearer.
Thus, Haaland becomes the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League goals, breaking Shearer’s long-standing record.
Meanwhile, Squawka highlighted Haaland’s continued string of record-breaking feats in the Premier League, noting he is the fastest to reach 20, 30, 40, 50 and 100 goals.
Punchline time: If he keeps this pace, the calendar will start charging him rent for all those goals.
Another one: Haaland isn’t chasing records so much as records are chasing Haaland—talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy for the back of the net.
