Inzaghi Maps Al Hilal's Training Camp for the International Break
Italian coach Simone Inzaghi is laying the groundwork for Al Hilal's camp during the upcoming international window, which coincides with Saudi Arabia's participation in the Arab Cup in Doha.
Saudi outlet Al-Riyadhiya reported that Inzaghi, together with his technical staff, is weighing a domestic or overseas camp, including friendly matches to raise technical and physical readiness and to give playing time to those not featuring regularly, as well as a tailored dietary program for the period.
The final decision on the camp's location and the full training program will be taken during the international break.
Meanwhile, Al Hilal resumed training on Sunday after a day off following a 2-0 victory over Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.
In group training, all players participated except Salem Al-Dosri, who is finishing the final phase of rehabilitation before rejoining the squad.
The blue wave are preparing to face Al Akhdood tomorrow in the King’s Cup Round of 16.
The Saudi Football Federation announced that the Round of 16 matches will conclude on Tuesday, with the draw for the quarterfinals set for 3:00 PM on Wednesday at the studios of the Thamaniya network.
Contract extension for Savic
The club confirmed the Serbian international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has renewed his contract until the summer of 2028.
Since joining from Lazio in the summer of 2023, the midfielder has appeared in 105 matches across all competitions, scoring 31 goals and creating 27 assists.
“From the first day I arrived here, I felt something different,” Savic said after renewing his deal. “The fans, the club, the spirit… nothing compares; here every step matters, every win tastes different; ambition never stops.”
“I’ve lived my best moments here; the bond with this club is bigger than a contract; I stay because glory is not something you abandon.”
Before his renewal, European interest was intense, particularly from Italy, with Juventus rumored to seek his services on a free transfer when his contract ends.
The Serbian star has been a cornerstone for Al Hilal since arriving from Lazio in 2023, quickly establishing himself as a pivotal midfielder with a blend of physical strength, tactical vision, and attacking prowess.
He plays a central role in the manager’s system as an advanced midfielder linking defense and attack, and his precise distribution and ability to read spaces have made him one of the league’s top playmakers, contributing with long-range strikes and sharp runs into the box.
Concentrated camp
The Saudi national team decided to shift its upcoming training camp from Dammam to Jeddah due to winter agricultural work on several stadiums in the city.
The Green Falcons are expected to play two friendlies during the camp, aligned with the international window that starts on November 10, with the Saudi Pro League pausing for about two weeks.
Coach Hervé Renard aims to ready the squad for the Arab Cup in Qatar from December 1 to 18.
Saudi Arabia qualified for the 2026 World Cup by topping their Asian qualifying group in the October window, securing a spot after a 3-2 win over Indonesia and a goalless draw with Iraq. Renard would become the first Saudi coach to guide the team to two consecutive World Cups, after leading them in 2022.
