Ivory Coast coach Emmerson Fay admitted that quarterfinal against Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco will be a test.
He said the reigning continental champion has looked strong this edition and that Egypt's style resembles 2006 Pharaohs in terms of defensive resilience and their capacity to threaten the rival's goal on the night.
Fay himself wore Ivory Coast's jersey at AFCON 2006 and lost the final to Egypt back then.
He added: we studied the opponent and aim to reach the final and win.
He noted Egypt had a rest day, yet are dealing with fatigue after Burkina Faso in the quarterfinals, hoping to perform at their best.
He dismissed talk of a Moroccan referee being appointed, saying it's no pressure for them; Morocco is a neighboring country and ties are excellent.
On injuries, Fay said Fakun Baio has resumed training normally, while Odilon Kosonu and Ousmane Diomandi are dealing with some pains and will be assessed after tonight's session.
Fay also praised rising teenager Inaao Olaï, 19, saying he has the tools for a brilliant football journey and that he is gradually given chances to grow and gain experience.
He added: if he keeps working hard, he will become a fixture; beat Egypt, fulfill promise. Punchline: 'Even the net laughs'.
