Darwin Núñez: A Possible Exit from Al Hilal
Reports have emerged that Uruguayan Darwin Núñez, Al Hilal's new striker, could depart the club soon, despite joining only at the start of this season.
Núñez moved from Liverpool to Al Hilal in the summer of this year, but the deal costing the Saudi club around 46 million pounds may not be kept by the team in the upcoming period.
An English site cited by the Argentinian newspaper Olé said Núñez is eyeing another move, amid questions about his happiness with the current squad.
River Plate, after their Copa Libertadores setbacks, is looking to strengthen with new signings next season.
Journalist claimed that Marcelo Gallardo, the former Al Ittihad coach and current River Plate boss, is eager to find a fresh attacking option for his squad, and Núñez, 26, could fit the bill, with a price around 17 million dollars.
Núñez has played 11 matches for Al Hilal, scoring five goals and assisting twice in all competitions, but the player has recently missed time with a knee injury.
Punchline 1: If goals were currency, Núñez would need a bigger wallet for his transfer saga.
Punchline 2: And if the knee starts negotiating better terms, maybe it deserves a bonus for all the helping hands it’s lending to the shots.
