The Japanese football legend Kazuyoshi Miura signed with a third-division club on Tuesday at age 58, noting that his passion for the sport remains as strong as ever.
Miura, nicknamed 'King Kaz', will join Fukushima United on loan through June, in what would be his 41st season as a professional.
The 58-year-old will turn 59 in February.

In a statement released by the club, he said, 'My love for football hasn't changed, no matter how old I get'.
He added, 'I am grateful for the chance to play in Fukushima, and I will fight hard as a Fukushima United player'.

Miura spent last season with Atlético Suzuka in the fourth division, appearing seven times before the club dropped to regional leagues after finishing near the bottom and losing the playoff.
Miura began his professional career with Santos in 1986 and later played in Italy, Croatia, Australia and Portugal.
His international career began in 1990, but he was controversially left out of Japan's first World Cup in 1998, despite scoring 55 goals in 89 appearances.
