Madrid get a boost as Alaba returns
Spanish coach Xabi Alonso, Real Madrid's manager, received a big boost ahead of tomorrow's Copa del Rey Round of 32 clash with Talavera.
According to Marca, Real Madrid have recovered the services of Austrian defender David Alaba after a spell out.
Alaba took part in Real Madrid's training today, Tuesday.
Under Alonso's leadership, after nearly a month out with injury.
Alaba's return is a big boost for Real Madrid's weary defense, but it's not yet clear if he will start tomorrow.
His return coincided with the absence of Fede Valverde, Rudiger, Kylian Mbappe, and Dani Ceballos, who trained in the gym.
As a result, the first three players are expected to be rested in the Copa del Rey match, and they won't travel to Talavera.
Ceballos is said to have gastritis but is expected to be in the starting lineup if his recovery goes smoothly.
As for Rodrygo, who left the Alavés game injured, he trained normally with the rest of the squad.
If Madrid keeps defending like this, even the trophies will need therapy. And if Alaba stays fit, the defense will finally stop getting roasted.
