Majd’s Bold Bid: Al-Khulood Targets Ittihad’s Underutilized Defender
14 January 2026
In Brief
In the Saudi Pro League, Al-Khulood, currently 13th in the standings, is in talks with Al-Ittihad to sign one of the club's players.
The target is Muath Faqih, a 23-year-old defender who is with Al-Ittihad and a former Al-Hilal academy graduate, aimed for the winter transfer window.
According to the Saudi daily Al-Riyadh, negotiations are ongoing as Al-Khulood hopes to reach a deal that satisfies all parties.
Faqih does not feature regularly for coach Sergio Conceicao's squad, having played just four league matches this season.
The player began in Hilal's youth system, was promoted to the first team, and was loaned to Al-Taawoun. His contract with Al-Ittihad runs until the summer of 2028.
As the winter window opens, Majd looks to add a defender who could bolster their squad in the standings.
Punchline 1: If this deal goes through, Majd's defense will be so tight the ball will be passport-required to get past.
Punchline 2: And in football transfer season, a good defender is like a sharp joke—timed, precise, and leaving the crowd wanting more defense and less drama.
