Mbappé's Spanish Journey: Language, Culture, and Comfort
The French superstar Kylian Mbappé, now with Real Madrid, spoke about how he has refined his Spanish and how it differs from French, noting that both are Latin languages and that he learned quickly after arriving in Madrid.
Coach Xabi Alonso indicated that Mbappé should be available for Getafe on Sunday as Real Madrid navigate La Liga round nine, and Mbappé has returned to full training without pain in his right ankle, ready for the clash.
He described daily life in Madrid helping him practice the language, and said speaking the local language shows respect for the place. He added that in France people study French, but in Spain he must adapt to Spanish culture, something he welcomes because life here is comfortable and the people are friendly.
He said: “Spanish is similar to French; both are Latin languages, and I learned quickly.” He also noted that living in Madrid allowed him to speak fluently and that being able to converse in the language is a sign of respect for the country.
“We live a decent life here; people are kind and friendly, and life unfolds at a relaxed pace,” he added, underscoring his positive experience in Spain.
Madrid will then face Juventus in the group stage of the Champions League, followed by the highly anticipated Clasico against Barcelona, with the pair set to meet at the Santiago Bernabéu on October 22 and 26 respectively.
