Mbappé Wins Golden Boot at Bernabéu
French star Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid’s sensational forward, collected the Golden Boot for the 2024-25 season in the Santiago Bernabéu stands.
Mbappé scored 31 goals in 34 La Liga matches last season, claiming Europe’s top total and earning the prize.
AS reports Mbappé becomes the third Real Madrid player to win the award since its 1967 start.
Before Mbappé, Hugo Sánchez logged 38 in 1989-1990, Cristiano Ronaldo claimed it three times for Madrid (40 in 2010-11, 31 in 2013-14, 48 in 2014-15), and Ronaldo also won one with Manchester United before moving to Real Madrid.
Madrid’s joy came after a decade without the prize, making Mbappé’s moment all the more exceptional.
Florentino Pérez, Madrid’s president, said he was proud to have a player like Mbappé, calling him a perfect embodiment of the club’s values.
Mbappé stepped to the podium and thanked his teammates, staff, and the supporters, stressing that wearing Real Madrid’s jersey has long been a childhood dream fulfilled.
He also spoke of the goal of defending the award in 2026, and of the privilege of playing for a club that represents a history and a nation.
Pérez added that Mbappé’s achievement will inspire the squad to keep pushing for more trophies this season.
Mbappé concluded, "It’s an honor to receive the Golden Boot. Thanks to everyone. It’s a pivotal moment for me, and I’m excited to continue with this club."
He thanked teammates and staff for their support and said he hopes to win it again in 2026.
Punchline 1: Mbappé’s shots are so on target the net filed a restraining order against any ball that misses.
Punchline 2: If he keeps scoring like this, even the scoreboard will need a sniper’s aid to keep up with the pace.
