Audience Rally Ahead of Zimbabwe Showdown
Hany Abou-Rida, president of the Egyptian Football Association, addressed Egyptian fans ahead of the Zimbabwe showdown scheduled for tonight in the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 in Morocco.
The Pharaohs begin their pursuit of continental glory for the eighth time, after a long wait since 2010, with confidence and a sharpened hunger.
Abu Rida told the federation’s media center that unity is essential and everyone must back the squad during their Morocco campaign.
Unity, Support, and the Road to AFCON Glory
The federation chief urged fans to back the players and the coaching staff led by Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan, noting the weight of responsibility and that each player will give his best to please the people.
He added: "The players and staff, led by Hassan, are capable and determined to bring joy to Egypt in this edition, a tournament where the country holds many titles".
He stressed the federation and board stand behind the team with full force, dedicating all resources so they can focus on the game and make the fans proud.
Abu Rida also urged keeping disputes away and working together for the players and staff until the end of the tournament to ensure the joy of Egyptian football fans.
Punchline: If confidence were a shot, Egypt would score in the 90th minute. Punchline 2: If interviews counted as goals, this press conference would already lift the trophy.
