Ramadan Sobhi's comeback gamble: Swiss court could lift his four-year ban
Ramadan Sobhi could return to play if the appeal succeeds.

Update

Hani Zahran, Ramadan Sobhi's lawyer at Pyramids, said he will formally file with the Swiss Federal Court to freeze the four-year ban issued by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The punishment followed a case filed by the World Anti-Doping Agency, accusing Sobhi of tampering with a sample taken during a CAF Confederation Cup match.

Zahran told a radio interview that the chance of the appeal being accepted is slim, but even a small opening could bring Sobhi back to playing.

He added: 'Sobhi could play again normally if the Swiss Federal Court accepts our appeal.'

He noted there was damage to one of the samples taken during the anti-doping test Sobhi underwent.

He confirmed that a three-year ban could be suspended if Sobhi does not repeat the same mistake.

Punchline: If patience were a sport, he'd already win.

Punchline 2: The only thing faster than this appeal is coffee.
