Rivals Spark Fire in Saudi Transfer Battle for Local Keeper
Al Hilal looks to secure Ahmed Alkasar from Qadisiyah amid a heated local transfer battle.

Al Hilal has entered a heated race with Al Ittihad to sign Ahmed Alkasar, the Qadisiyah goalkeeper, ahead of the winter transfer window.

According to Asharq Al-Awsat, Al Hilal disclosed its desire to sign the 34-year-old shot-stopper for the winter market.

The club believes Alkasar is ideal to cover Yassine Bounou's absence, thanks to his extensive Saudi Pro League experience.

Al Hilal had previously negotiated with Qadisiyah to sign him in the summer, but the deal fell through.

The report notes a negotiating gap, as Qadisiyah is reluctant to part with their veteran keeper amid weaker initial offers.

Alkasar's contract with Qadisiyah runs for roughly a season and a half, giving the club room to maneuver. If he signs, the goalposts will start charging rent. And if the deal stalls, the ball will negotiate a bailout.
