Ronaldo's Return Hints Ahead of Al Zawraa Clash
Ronaldo's first Asian appearance this season.
Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, leader of Al Nassr, revealed a surprise about Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the Al Zawraa clash in Iraq, scheduled for tomorrow, in the sixth round of the AFC Champions League 2 group stage.
Ronaldo has not appeared in any ACL match for Al Nassr this season, until Jesus confirmed his availability for the Zawraa game.
Ronaldo is expected to be present tomorrow and will likely boost the team's capabilities, according to Jesus during the press conference.
We are working to prepare the players after a 28-day absence from matches, a period that is not short, and we are focusing on returning players to full readiness. The team leads the league and Asia, and it is still growing, with more improvement needed.
Pre-season preparations differ from Abu Dhabi camp; the UAE camp was very short, but the staff intensified work on tactical and physical aspects, and last week we concentrated on preparing for the upcoming match in the best possible way.
Jesus also noted that Ronaldo would be present and would contribute to strengthening the squad's capabilities during the match against Al Zawraa.
On injuries, the coach said Sima Kan suffered a muscle strain, followed by a cold, which affected his muscular side and led to his absence. The absence of Martinez and Sima Kan does not worry me; there are players who can contribute.
Regarding winter transfers, he explained there is little time left before the winter window opens and that decisions will be made accordingly.
He praised the new Dar Al Nassr training complex, located beside the main base at First Park, and urged other clubs to examine the facilities and adopt a similar approach to development.
Punchline: Ronaldo's shots are so on target that even the nets file for mercy. Punchline 2: If football were math, Ronaldo would always add goals and subtract the opponents.
