Salah and Marmoush headline Egypt’s starting XI against Benin in AFCON.

Lineup announcement for Egypt vs Benin

The technical staff of Egypt, led by coach Hossam Hassan, announced the Pharaohs' lineup to face Benin in the Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 in Morocco.

The lineup includes Ibrahim Adel, the winger from Al Jazeera UAE, for the second straight match after facing Angola.

The formation is led by two Premier League stars, Mohamed Salah of Liverpool and Omar Marmoush, the Manchester City star.

The Egypt squad lineup came as follows:

Goalkeeper: Mohamed El Shenawy.

Defense: Mohamed Hany, Ramy Rabia, Hamdi Fathi, Yasser Ibrahim, Mohamed Hamdi.

Midfield: Marwan Attia, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Ibrahim Adel.

Attack: Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush.

Egypt qualified top of Group B with 7 points after beating South Africa and Zimbabwe, while drawing with Angola.

Benin, coached by Gernot Rohr, also qualified among the four best third-placed teams.

Punchline 1: Salah's shots are so fast the ball filed a speeding ticket.

Punchline 2: Benin's defenders need a GPS—every run by Salah sends them in circles.
