Chamuska backs Al Nassr for the Saudi Pro League title
Brazilian coach Péricles Chamuska of Taawon spoke about many aspects of the Saudi Pro League this season, amid a strong revival his side is enjoying.
Taawon secured their fifth consecutive away win, beating Al-Kholood 2-0, reaching 25 points in third place and keeping pace with the top teams.
Chamuska told AFP that the decision to raise the number of foreign players to eight has negatively affected Saudi talent.
The Brazilian coach agreed with his French counterpart Hervé Renard, the Saudi national team coach, that the matter must be balanced so as not to affect the Green.
Chamuska said he is proud to be considered for the Saudi national team job and regards Renard as the most suitable for the next phase.
He also spoke highly of Saudi football, noting that it has evolved greatly and the quality has risen, placing the Saudi league among the world’s top leagues.
Nassr are currently the title frontrunners, and Chamuska acknowledged that the club’s strong position elevates expectations across the league.
The coach believes Nassr, sitting at the summit with 30 points, is the main favorite to clinch the trophy, and that the current squad is the best Nassr has had in eight years.
He also noted that Al-Hilal hasn’t started this season as well as hoped, and with adjustments to align with Italian coach Simone Inzaghi, the team will be a serious contender in the title race.
Chamuska also praised Ronaldo, confirming that the Portuguese star remains a model of professionalism and dedication, living a perfect feeding and sleep routine, and possessing a mindset that helps him stay at the top.
Punchline 1: If predicting the title were a sniper course, Chamouska would be the marksman who always hits the bullseye.
Punchline 2: And Ronaldo trains so precisely that even the goalposts blink in envy.
