Al-Nassr's Offensive Storm Breaks a 13-Year Record

Al-Nassr writes a fresh chapter in its dazzling attacking history, breaking the historic record once held by Al-Ittihad, which stood for about thirteen years as the league’s most prolific first-five-round tally in the Saudi Pro League.

The achievement came as Al-Nassr routed Al-Fateh 5-1 on Saturday night at First Park, in Round Five of the Roshen Saudi Pro League, proving the global powerhouse is the league’s most potent attacking force this season so far.

According to statistics from the Saudi daily Al-Riyadia, Al-Nassr raised its scoring total to 19 goals after five rounds, surpassing Al-Ittihad, which had held the record (18) since the 2011-2012 season for a decade.

The victory rests on a fearsome forward line featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Felix, Kingsley Coman, and Sadio Mane, guided by Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus. Their chemistry and tempo are turning heads all around.

Al-Shabab and Al-Hilal sit third with 16 goals each; Al-Shabab reached that total in 2012-13, while Al-Hilal did so last season. This trio underscores how competitive the early phase of the campaign already looks.

Al-Nassr not only breaks records but dominates late minutes as four goals arrive in the last 15 minutes of the second half against Al-Fateh, underscoring their physical and mental edge in decisive moments.

According to Opta statistics, no Roshen team has scored more in the final quarter than Al-Nassr this season, a testament to the squad’s finish and focus when it matters most.

Serie-like numbers arrive as SofaScore notes that under Jesus, Al-Nassr began the 2025-26 Roshen season perfectly, winning all five matches, tallying 19 goals at roughly 3.8 per game, conceding only two, keeping clean sheets in three games, and posting the league’s top average rating at 7.30.

The clash opened with Felix setting the tone, as the Portuguese attacker found the lead in the 13th minute, celebrating Ronaldo’s style amid a raucous First Park.

Al-Fateh pressed with Ikambi, Zaïdou Youssef, and Murad Batna, but Nawaf Al-Aqidi stood tall, ending the half with a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, Sufian Ben Debka equalized in the 54th minute, before Ronaldo squandered a penalty in the 59th, suggesting the hosts could swing the tie.

But Al-Nassr’s deluge began at minute 60 when Ronaldo converted the spot kick into the top corner, sparking a goal-fest.

Felix added the third in the 68th minute, then Coman struck the fourth in the 75th, and Felix completed a hat-trick in the 79th, following Mane’s shot that defenders kept off the line.

With this win, Al-Nassr moved to 15 points atop the table, four ahead of second-placed Al-Hilal, while Al-Fateh remained on a single point in 16th.

The feat marks a perfect start to the league for the fifth time in the last decade, after 2014-15 and 2018-19, two seasons when the club won the title.

Jésus: I won’t smile until we lift the trophy.

After the game, the Portuguese coach said the win reflects hard work, not ease, and that any injuries, like Brozovic’s, are only a temporary setback. He added: We work properly game after game; returning from the break is always hard, and the league remains our primary objective.

He also praised several domestic players, including Abdullah Al-Khubri, Aiman Yahya, Abdulilah Al-Omari, Nawaf Al-Aqidi, and others contributing to both Al-Nassr and the national team. Note: Al-Ittihad holds the league and cup titles.
