Senegal to face Saudi Arabia in a warm-up ahead of World Cup 2026
The Senegal Football Federation confirmed on Friday that the national team will meet Saudi Arabia in a friendly to prepare for the 2026 World Cup.
According to the federation, Senegal will also play another warm-up match against Argentina as part of its World Cup preparations.
The 2026 World Cup draw had placed Saudi Arabia in Group 8 alongside Spain, Uruguay, and Cape Verde, while Senegal was drawn into Group 9 with France, Norway, and the playoff winner from the intercontinental playoff featuring Iraq, Bolivia, and Suriname.
These matches will give the Lions of Teranga a valuable chance to refine tactics and build cohesion ahead of the tournament's group stage.
Punchline 1: If football had a dating app, these friendlies would swipe right on both Saudi Arabia and Argentina.
Punchline 2: World Cup 2026: the only show where the plot twists come with a whistle and a ball.
