Shikabala’s Bold Plea: Zamalek’s Board Must Step Up or Step Aside
6 December 2025
Shikabala's Direct Challenge to the Board
The White Castle faces a crushing financial crisis.
Mahmoud Abdel-Razik 'Shikabala', the former Zamalek star, voiced his deep sadness at the club’s worsening situation and criticized the leadership.
Speaking in a televised interview today, he said what is happening at Zamalek makes him very sad, with daily complaints mounting against the board.
And he delivered a sharp message to the White Castle’s leadership: "If you are not up to the responsibility and the fans’ demands, you must leave immediately. The current board enjoyed the strongest support from fans at the start of its tenure".
He stressed the need for real deeds on the ground, not just talk and statements.
These remarks arrive as Zamalek faces escalating financial crises, including foreign players’ contracts being terminated and FIFA warnings over owed money to players and coaches.
Action, accountability, and more than lip service are needed now.
Two light punchlines:
"If accountability were a goalkeeper, this board would need a bigger net."
"Money talks, but apparently this team's money is on strike."
