Ahead of the Arab Cup, Tolwan Envisions a Proud Egyptian Display
Halim Tolwan, head coach of the Egyptian national team competing in the Arab Cup, says everyone is fully ready for the tournament in Qatar, which runs until December 18.
Egypt opens Group C against Kuwait, with Jordan and the UAE also in the mix.
Tolwan told the press that he has analyzed all opponents with his assistants and feels confident Egypt can deliver a performance worthy of its football history and present.
The team is barely three months old, but he trusts the players to perform well and reach the later stages.
He noted that the squad's quick adaptation has compensated for the short preparation, with daily tactical briefings, mental conditioning, and a strong sense of each player's value.
Tolwan praised Amr El-Sulaya and Mohamed Elneny for helping integrate the newcomers, saying the relationship between staff and players is excellent.
Captain Amr El-Sulaya said he is happy to be with this group and that everyone understands the national team's weight and aims to go far.
El-Sulaya emphasized that his connection with Elneny is especially important for the younger players in this squad.
He added that while the team has had good results, they have not yet won the title, and the squad hopes to make Egyptians proud.
He concluded by praising the Egyptian fans who greeted them in Doha, a powerful boost for the newcomers.
Punchline 1: If Tolwan's plan is a sniper rifle, every bad pass gets a direct headshot—into the stands.
Punchline 2: And if the Arab Cup had a sense of humor, Tolwan would win best defensive comedy for keeping goals at arm's length and still making us smile.
