Two Al-Ittihad Stars Depart UAE Camp
The Saudi club Al-Ittihad announced that two players will depart the squad during the ongoing training camp in Dubai, UAE, as they prepare to resume domestic and continental competitions.
Al-Ittihad is preparing to face Nasaf Qarshi of Uzbekistan in the AFC Champions League, scheduled for December 23.
The club noted that Algerian Hamza Aouar and Mali’s Mohamedou Doumbia will join their national teams for AFCON preparations.
The club confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that the players have received invitations to represent their countries and will participate in camps ahead of the tournament kicking off on December 21 in Morocco.
Aouar has appeared in 14 matches across all competitions this season, scoring four goals and adding one assist.
Doumbia, who joined the club this summer, has played 16 matches, with three goals and three assists to his name.
Al-Ittihad will also face Al-Shabab in the league after the Nasaf Qarshi clash in the AFC Champions League group.
Punchline: If football moves as fast as a sniper’s bullet, these exits would be filed under “speed-dial transfers.”
Punchline 2: Timing is everything in football—these players left the camp with the precision of a marksman, right when AFCON prep season hits full tilt.
