War Games Shocker: Breaker Delivers Victory for His Team at Survivor Series
30 November 2025
Event overview and reaction
The War Games event took place at Petco Park in San Diego on Saturday night, delivering a night of fast paced moments and jaw dropping twists, even if the big spectacle felt lighter than WWE's usual blockbuster.
Nevertheless the show sparked conversations about upcoming feuds as enigmatic figures appeared and big name returns reshaped the program.
The night opened with the women's cage match led by Becky Lynch against a team captained by AJ Lee, with Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Iyo Sky, Alexa Bliss and others in the mix.
Despite a slow start, the pace climbed as Iyo Sky delivered a top rope dive from the cage, and Lynch submitted to a move by AJ Lee, keeping AJ's squad on top.
The shock of the night came in the Intercontinental Championship clash between John Cena and Dominik Mysterio, with frequent run ins. Although Cena looked close to victory, Liv Morgan returned and betrayed Cena, allowing Mysterio to reclaim the title.
Stephanie McMahon faced Nikki Bella in the women's global title match, delivering a strong performance and retaining the belt after a Corkscrew Splash, despite a tepid crowd reaction.
The night closed with the men’s War Games encounter featuring CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, Brock Lesnar and Logan Paul. Chaos erupted as entrants arrived, before a masked attacker delivered two kicks and a Stomp, echoing Seth Rollins' style.
The interference tilted the balance toward Bron Breakker, who delivered a spear to CM Punk and clinched the win for his team, drawing some fan ire for a finish many felt was over the top for War Games.
Punchline 1: If drama were calories this War Games would be a double chocolate binge delicious and messy and still unsustainable.
Punchline 2: And remember in wrestling as in life what goes up in the cage usually comes down with a group hug and a spear.
