Winter Delays Bundesliga Showdown: Leverkusen vs Hamburg Postponed on Snowy Day
13 January 2026
Weather forces Bundesliga postponement
The new date for the match will be announced soon.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen announced on Tuesday that their Bundesliga game against Hamburger SV, scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed due to safety concerns related to the weather at the Volksparkstadion.
Heavy snowfall and bitterly cold conditions led to the postponement of two league fixtures at the start of the week.
In a statement posted on X, Leverkusen said: "Our match against Hamburg has been cancelled due to safety concerns related to the bad weather at the Volksparkstadion. We will share the new date later."
Leverkusen, currently fourth in the table, will visit Hoffenheim on Saturday, while Hamburg will host Borussia Monchengladbach on the same day.
Upcoming fixtures and quick note
The schedule change means teams adjust plans as winter tightens its grip on German football.
Punchline (sniper-style): Winter postponed the game with surgical precision—the only thing sharper than a striker today is the forecast.
Punchline 2: If the weather had a game plan, it would be a perfect defensive wall—ice-cold, perfectly offside, and somehow always in season.
