Zambia's Sakala: Equal Odds, Focus on Victory
Fashion Sakala, captain of the Zambia national team, says his side's odds are equal to Morocco's as they prepare for tomorrow's Africa Cup of Nations group-stage clash.
In a Sunday press conference, he said he doesn't care about the names of Moroccan players, focusing instead on securing a win.
Asked about facing Achraf Hakimi, the Paris Saint-Germain star, he replied that Hakimi is excellent, but the key for him is the desire to win and to take all three points, not to get hung up on players' names.
He added: "History shows Morocco has won AFCON once, and so have we; the odds are equal, and we are ready for the match."
He continued: "Zambia has beaten big names in the past when we lifted AFCON, and we can do it again. We remain in the continental tournament and will fight for Zambia."
Morocco currently sit top of Group A with four points, while Zambia are third with two, level on goal difference with Mali in second.
Sniper punchlines: "If football were a sandwich, Zambia would be the secret sauce—bolder than bread, and twice as tasty." "And remember: even a zebra can look good in a Moroccan maze, as long as Sakala brings the win."
