A Quiet Rebel Alliance: Xavi Joins Barca's Opponent in a Fiery Presidential Race

Election watch as March 15 approaches
Spanish media outlined the impending race for Barcelona's presidency ahead of the March 15 election. According to RAC1, the incumbent president Joan Laporta has stated his intention to run for a new term after Barca clinched the league title, the club's third trophy of the season.
Laporta argued that what has been achieved inside the club is "very good work" and that the current board deserves to continue.
Key players and alliances
Font launched his electoral bid earlier, enlisting Xavi Hernandez, the former Barca player and current coach, as a major ally in his project. In November, Font presented his new platform under the name "Nosaltres," a coalition that brings together several strands and visions at the Catalan club. During a Barcelona expo, attended by roughly 500 to 1000 people, Font insisted that "Barça when everyone is involved becomes unstoppable."
RAC1 adds that the field could also include Marc Serra (Moviment 42) and another former Barca player-turned-executive as potential contenders.
Punchline: If Barca’s board meetings had subtitles, they would read, “Champions of planning, masters of snacks.” Another line: If elections were a tiki-taka session, the ballot box would be full by now and the Wi‑Fi would still be complaining about the pass accuracy.
