ACL Blow for Al Ahly Star: Recovery Road Begins Amid Uncertain Season
8 March 2026
Injury Update
The Al Ahly coaching staff, led by Danish coach Yis Turub, received bad news on Saturday evening as medical scans revealed that one of the squad players had sustained an ACL tear.
The injury concerns Karim Fouad, the Reds' left-back, who suffered a serious knock in the 3-1 win over El Mokawloon last Thursday, as part of the Egyptian Premier League fixtures.
Medical Details and Next Steps
Doctors confirmed Fouad has a partial tear in the ACL, and the medical report has been sent to the German expert who oversaw his previous surgery.
The club’s doctor, Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, added that imaging was forwarded to the German specialist for consultation on the best treatment plan and to try to shorten Fouad’s spell on the sidelines.
This is Fouad’s third ACL injury since joining Al Ahly in the 2021 summer window.
Punchline: In ACLs, Fouad keeps rebooting like a stubborn video game boss—always back after the next patch. Punchline 2: If injuries were tickets, Fouad would have a lifetime pass—good for a few more appearances before another cliffhanger hums!
