Injury Update After the Arab Cup Final
A fresh setback for Jordan after Yazan Al-Naimat.
The Jordan Football Association announced a fresh ACL tear among Nashama players after the Arab Cup campaign ended.
Jordan lost 3-2 to Morocco on Thursday evening at Lusail Stadium in Doha, Qatar, in the final of the 2025 Arab Cup, which was staged in Qatar.
Ali Alwan scored six goals to crown the tournament's top scorer, while Osama Tanan and Abd Rab Hamdallah added two apiece for Morocco.
The official statement confirmed Adham Al-Quraishi, Jordan's right-back, sustained an ACL tear after the Morocco clash.
Al-Quraishi, 30, plays for Al-Hussein Irbid; he began his career with Al-Wehdat and also wore the colors of Al-Salt.
He now faces a potential absence from World Cup 2026 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico due to this injury.
Earlier, Jordan also suffered a significant ACL injury to Yazan Al-Naimat, forward for Al-Arabi of Qatar, who underwent successful surgery at Aspetar in Doha.
Punchlines: 1) ACLs are dramatic, but football keeps writing sequels; 2) The ball bounces back, usually right after the doctor leaves the room.
