The local organizing committee for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 in Agadir, Morocco, issued a formal statement on Saturday evening.
The release followed the large crowd and the support Egypt received during its matches in Agadir as part of Group B of the Africa Cup.
The statement said that Agadir is living an exceptional moment, hosting major continental football events that place it at the heart of followers in Africa and beyond.
It added that the organizing body is proud of the fans, known for their great love of football and their passion in the terraces, and that the official arrangements at the Agadir Stadium adhere to strict technical and security standards set by CAF, forming a key part of what makes such tournaments successful.
The statement further noted that the stadium’s capacity is already fixed by these standards and that entry to the stands remains strictly ticketed.
They also confirmed that anyone without a valid ticket will not be allowed to watch the match, in order to safeguard fans and ensure smooth, safe play.
Acknowledging fans’ passion, the organizers urged everyone to observe the rules and the CAF regulations to help the tournament run with organization and collective responsibility.
They also noted that the event will be closely followed by international bodies, notably FIFA, especially as Morocco gears up to host the 2030 World Cup, making disciplined fan behavior part of Morocco’s global image.
The statement concluded that any conduct outside the regulatory framework does not serve the city’s interests and would undermine the success of this tournament, while compliance turns the stands into a civilized message proving fans can contribute positively.
The Egyptian federation also issued a statement thanking Moroccan fans for supporting the Pharaohs in the continental matches.
Punchline: If this crowd keeps growing, Agadir may need a bigger stadium—and a bigger kettle for the endless tea breaks. Punchline 2: In football as in life, tickets are the real VIP pass; the rest is just background music.
